Gaskets

Ashton Seals stock a complete and versatile range of material, including compressed non-asbestos fibre (CNAF), together with commercial rubber, neoprene, nitrile, EPDM, butyl, silicone, viton® and polyurethane sheet.
In addition, we maintain large stocks of various grades and thicknesses, of plain and rubber-bonded cork, gasket paper, felt, plain and reinforced graphite, vulcanized fibre, plastic and sponge materials and virgin, filled and/or expanded PTFE. As might be expected of a company with our experience, we recognise and can certify to most British and many other foreign standards.
Whilst with Ashton Seals you will also be able to enjoy the benefits of our existing drawing & template database as well as the skills of our in house draughtsmen.
Viton® is a registered trademark of DuPont Dow Elastomers
GASKETS & JOINTS
Tooling is available to produce all standard pipe flange gaskets (BST, ASA, DIN etc.) from any material.
Simply advise: -
• Grades required
• Thickness
• Flange specification(e.g. BS 10, ASA 300, BS 4504)
• The nominal bore
• Whether inside bolt circle (ring joint) or full face
For individual requirements to customer specification, new tooling can be produced and gaskets cut, in many instances on a 24-hour basis.

Should press cutting not be practical or economical we have the ability and experience to produce hand-made joints to any shape or size. A complete gasket cutting service is available in these materials:
Cork
Neoprene Bonded Cork
Nitrile Bonded Cork
Gasket Paper
Plastics
Extruded and Moulded Rod and Tube
PTFE
PTFE Sheeting
Virgin, Expanded or Filled PTFE
PTFE Envelope/Rubber Insert Gaskets
RUBBER
We maintain a comprehensive range of rubber sheeting in a variety of thicknesses from which the vast majority of applications can be satisfied.
Rubber sheeting and strip can be supplied in many qualities and cut to suit your requirements. Our technical sales staff will be pleased to advise you on the most economical means of meeting your needs.
Sponge rubber gaskets and strip is available where a joint is required to be highly compressible under light flange loading. We can produce a wide variety of gaskets, joints and strip in many grades of sponge rubber, with or without pressure-sensitive adhesive packing.
We provide an efficient service for extruded, moulded and machined components and will be pleased to discuss your specific requirements.
RUBBER MATTING
Since the origination of the standard for electrical matting in 1976, BS921 Safety Matting has been widely used in a variety of switchboard, high voltage, test bench & repair shop applications. We supply 15Kv (BS921), in 3 standard roll widths (914mm, 1m & 1.22m). 11Kv matting is also available in these same sizes. For further information on our Electrical Safety Matting please click here.
ARTIOS CUTTING SYSTEM
Fast, Accurate, Automated Cutting, using the latest CAD/CAM Technology.
The Artios Kongsberg Cutting System is designed for gasket production, but is suitable for most other 'soft' materials without the need for expensive tooling.

For prototype work or short and medium production runs, the Artios Kongsberg computer-aided design and manufacturing system ensures quick and accurate cutting of gasket sheeting and many other materials. Shapes may be amended quickly and permanently stored digitally or on disk for future use.
Most designs can be cut TWENTY TIMES FASTER than by hand with the added advantage that CUTTING DIES and other TOOLING are NO LONGER REQUIRED.
Cost effective, just-in-time manufacture of complex gasket shapes is now a reality. But not just gaskets - this advanced method of cutting materials lends itself to a variety of other industries. Offering the latest and most powerful software and cutting technology, our investment in the Artios Kongsberg Cutting System further enhances the traditional service we offer to industry.
